Aviation Medical Examiner - Class 1 Privileges

About the role

Etihad is looking for an Aviation Medical Examiner with Class 1 privileges to manage the clinical caseload and provide medical expertise in aviation medicine. The role ensures the best possible service to aircrew, in line with regulatory standards and international best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized care according to aviation medical standards and regulations, and assess fitness to fly
• Respond to and handle medical emergencies in the Medical Centre clinical area
• Take part in review and planning activities for specialist services to improve operational efficiency
• Collect and analyse data on specialist services and report key insights to management
• Help formulate policies and procedures and prepare directives on aviation and preventative medicine
• Develop clinical care pathways with strategic healthcare provider partners

Required profile

• A recognized qualification or certification in Aviation Medicine, with Class 1 aeromedical examination privileges or equivalent authorization, subject to assessment and approval for the role
• At least 10 years of relevant medical experience, including 5 years in aviation medicine
• Experience in complex aeromedical assessments, aircrew fitness evaluations and reinstatement cases
• Open to international candidates; a relocation package will be provided
