Banquet Server

About the role

21c Museum Hotels combines a contemporary art museum, a boutique hotel and a chef-driven restaurant. As an Event Server, you will support events and promote the brand through excellent customer service, reporting to the Event Captain or Event Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Work hands-on during events alongside other B&C teammates, interacting with Event Captains and the Event Manager throughout the function.
• Help with set-up and tear-down of events according to the BEO, requisition sheet and Event Captain.
• Serve guests in the hotel and restaurant, taking orders, serving food and drinks and clearing tables.
• Follow the service steps for each type of event and know the ingredients of all food and beverage items served.
• Demonstrate knowledge of B&C procedures, terminology and techniques, and of the hotel's hours, features and services.
• Work in a team for large events and alone for smaller meetings, and report on time for scheduled shifts.

Required profile

• Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Responsible, dependable and punctual, with a clean and professional appearance.
• Ability to speak, read and understand English.
• Must pass a background check.
• Physical ability to carry a full cocktail tray, stand and walk for long periods, and lift at least 50 pounds.

Required skills

• Basic math skills.
• Beverage knowledge, especially spirits, beer, wine and bourbon.
• Strong communication skills.
