BIM/CAD Technician (Roads)

About the role

Parsons is looking for a BIM/CAD Technician (Roads) in Dubai, UAE. The role covers basic to moderately difficult design and drafting assignments, working closely with BIM leads and design leads to keep projects compliant with policies and processes and completed on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering drawings from rough sketches or general engineering and design information, including basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics and component details, according to established standards and procedures.
• Manage all BIM-related activities from project start-up to completion.
• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards in line with the company QA/QC process.
• Create parametric and non-parametric families and coordinate with other disciplines on model development and clashes.
• Produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of MEA/UAE CAD drafting experience in roads, highways, road signs and markings, and traffic studies.
• Good knowledge of BIM, LOD requirements and BIM processes; clear English communication.

Required skills

• AutoCAD, MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D and Navisworks (mandatory)
• ProjectWise and BIM360
• Clash detection and clash reporting in Navisworks
