Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth for a freight forwarding client in the UAE by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and expanding market presence across sea, air and land logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research to pinpoint potential clients, sectors and trends, generating leads through networking, referrals and industry events.
• Develop and execute strategies to attract new customers and grow the sales pipeline.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key stakeholders, understand client needs and propose tailored logistics solutions.
• Prepare persuasive sales presentations, negotiate terms and close deals while ensuring smooth onboarding and service delivery with internal teams.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and provide actionable insights to refine business strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑4 years of business development experience in freight forwarding (air, sea & express).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
• Proven track record of achieving GP targets at least 3‑4 times the target salary.
• Existing customer base in the relevant market.
• Valid driving licence.
