Business Development Specialist, Modernization (UAE Nationals Only)

About the role

KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa (KMTA) is expanding its direct presence and is looking for a Business Development Specialist for its Modernization Business, based in the Dubai office. The specialist finds new business opportunities, manages complex business development projects and supports focus segments such as infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) projects, turning the UAE's ageing base of elevators and escalators into modernization growth. The role is open only to UAE nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Find new business opportunities to position KONE competitively in the market, aligned with short- and long-term business goals.
• Manage complex business development projects and support segments such as infrastructure and PPP projects.
• Ensure cross-business or organization-wide implementation of growth opportunities, such as Advanced People Flow (APF) solutions or People Flow planning and consulting.
• Drive a turnaround of low business performance in a specific part of the business.
• Manage complex, large and difficult analysis, development or implementation projects.
• Maintain a strong network within and outside KONE, including developers, building owners, facility management companies, consultants and government entities, to share best practices and understand current and future requirements.
• Leverage external companies to shape KONE business and operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, finance or engineering.
• Established network with UAE developers, building owners, FM companies and government entities.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Minimum 5 years of proven track record of consistent success in business performance and development.
• Understanding of costs, business principles and risk management.
• Ability to work and communicate with diverse stakeholders and build relationships in a complex team environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of modernization scopes and elevator safety codes (e.g. EN 81-80) and UAE authority requirements.
• Experience qualifying, structuring and negotiating with business partners.
