Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst (UAE Candidates Only)

About the role

An experienced Business Intelligence Analyst is sought, with strong hands-on expertise in SQL, Power BI, ETL, data pipelines, data modelling and BI development. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions, from requirements gathering and complex SQL development to dashboard design, data validation, performance optimisation and project delivery. The role suits candidates able to work directly with external clients.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and client requirements and turn them into technical BI solutions.
• Develop, troubleshoot and optimise complex SQL queries on large datasets.
• Design, build, maintain and troubleshoot ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Build interactive dashboards, reports and analytical solutions using Power BI or equivalent platforms.
• Design and optimise data models, relationships, DAX measures, KPIs and calculated metrics.
• Integrate, transform, reconcile and validate data from multiple sources.
• Maintain existing BI solutions, implement data security, row-level security and user access controls, and take part in project delivery from development through UAT to deployment.
• Prepare technical, data dictionary and functional documentation and work with stakeholders to deliver on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or a related field.
• 5-8 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or BI development.
• Strong SQL development and optimisation, practical ETL and data pipeline experience, and advanced Power BI dashboard and DAX skills.
• Strong data modelling and database concepts, and experience delivering complete BI projects independently.
• Experience working directly with external clients or business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL: joins, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, stored procedures and query optimisation.
• Relational databases, indexing, execution plans and performance tuning.
• ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines and data transformation.
• Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data refresh and performance optimisation; Row-Level Security.
• Data modelling: fact and dimension tables, star schemas, KPIs and calculated measures.
• Data validation, reconciliation and quality assessment.

Advantages: cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud; Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Databricks, Snowflake; data warehousing and modern data architecture; Power BI or data analytics certifications.
