Careers and Higher Education Advisor

About the role

Repton Dubai is recruiting a Careers and Higher Education Advisor. The postholder supports students with informed, impartial advice on university options and career pathways, and coordinates a comprehensive guidance programme covering career planning, university applications and work experience. The role is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run a career guidance programme from Year 7 to 13, including university and career advice, CV writing and work experience.
• Help students research university courses and develop career skills such as interviews, job searching and networking.
• Keep up to date on higher education courses, application procedures (UCAS, Common App) and career sectors, and provide and update career materials.
• Organise assemblies, annual careers fairs, options evenings and career skills events, and manage external speakers, university visits and parent engagement.
• Maintain students' digital career profiles and a database of university offers and alumni destinations.
• Give personalised advice through one-on-one sessions, group presentations and workshops on personal statements and applications.
• Liaise with tutors, heads of year, SLT, alumni and universities, and train staff on writing university references.
• Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Support students during summer holiday results days, promote entrepreneurial skills with local businesses, and support Early Entry/Decision applications (e.g. Oxbridge, Ivy League, medical, law).
