Caregiver – Patient Support & Daily Living Assistance

About the role

The Caregiver will work under the direct supervision of registered nursing staff to provide safe, timely patient care and support daily living activities within Provita International Medical Center in Al Ain.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding) under licensed nursing supervision.
• Perform manual handling tasks, including patient transfers and mobility, based on competency.
• Provide assistive care to tracheostomized patients as directed by a registered nurse.
• Engage in play activities with pediatric patients under guidance of nurses and therapists.
• Monitor and promptly report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Support patients during physical, occupational, or speech therapy sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and ensure a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, offering emotional support.
• Stock rooms with supplies and ensure medical equipment is cleaned and maintained.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, food preparation, and errands as needed.
• Respond to emergencies following established policies.

Required profile

• Ability to work under direct supervision of registered nursing staff.
• Competence in manual handling and patient mobility.
• Experience or training in caring for tracheostomized patients.
• Good communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Willingness to participate in quality improvement initiatives.
