Cargo Agent

About the role

As a Cargo Agent in the dnata Cargo team you will handle all aspects of cargo processing, from documentation and customer service to loading and unloading shipments, ensuring smooth operations for both export and import cargo.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and assist loaders and equipment operators in cargo handling activities such as build‑up, breakdown, acceptance, delivery and documentation.
• Inspect and validate cargo against documentation, count goods at each stage and ensure compliance with standard procedures.
• Enter cargo data manually or automatically into the cargo systems in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with government authorities (Customs, Municipality, Health, Police) to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
• Handle special cargo (dangerous goods, live animals, valuable items) in line with IATA manuals and operate equipment like tow trucks and forklifts.

Required profile

• Completed O level (10 years of schooling) or Higher Secondary (12 years of schooling).
• Minimum 2 years experience in logistics and cargo handling.
• Valid licence for operating equipment.

Required skills

• Operation of cargo handling equipment (tow trucks, forklifts).
• Data entry into cargo management systems.
• Handling of special cargo and dangerous goods according to IATA regulations.
