Carpenter Technician 3

About the role

Atlantis The Palm, part of Kerzner International, is hiring a Carpenter Technician 3 in Dubai. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation of carpentry, painting and joinery works across the property, including guest room furniture, doors, cabinets, wardrobes, wooden flooring, wall panels, ceilings and other wooden fixtures. The Carpenter works closely with the Engineering team on maintenance requests and renovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of all carpentry-related items
• Repair and maintain guest room gypsum ceilings, furniture, wardrobes, cabinets, drawers, doors, door frames, skirting and wooden flooring
• Install, repair and adjust locks, hinges, door closers, handles and other door hardware
• Repair damaged wooden panels, decorative mouldings, partitions and ceiling access panels
• Carry out polishing, sanding, laminate repairs and finishing works
• Fabricate wooden components to site measurements and replace damaged plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers and solid wood
• Inspect guest rooms for carpentry defects and complete repairs promptly
• Support renovation projects and room refurbishment
• Maintain carpentry tools and equipment, keep work areas clean and hazard-free, and follow health, safety and fire regulations
• Coordinate with other engineering trades and with managers/team leaders to follow up service orders and update task status

Required profile

• Carpentry and joinery skills, furniture repair and restoration, door and hardware installation, and wood finishing and polishing
• Attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, teamwork and communication
• Ability to communicate with hotel guests during maintenance works
• Safe use of hand and power tools
• Awareness of MEP-related repair work is an added advantage
