Chief of Staff – International Banking Group

About the role

The Chief of Staff will optimise the operating model of the International Banking Group, focusing on the first line of defence and the overall governance framework. Acting as an independent trusted advisor, the role supports senior management across governance, internal controls, strategy, risk, expansion, budgeting and marketing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the effectiveness of the governance framework across all lines of defence.
• Manage international branch operations that report to the Group Head.
• Advise senior leadership on governance, internal controls, and business risk.
• Support strategic planning, international expansion, and product development.
• Lead budget formulation, cost management and marketing initiatives.
• Direct the Chief of Staff office team and the Internal Control Unit team.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of global banking operations, financial products and regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of international markets, foreign exchange and capital markets.
• Experience in crafting and executing corporate strategy aligned with bank objectives.
• Familiarity with global regulatory standards such as Basel III and AML laws.
• Expertise in business process optimisation and cost management.
