Chief Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure Contracts

About the role

The Chief Quantity Surveyor will lead the financial and contractual management of infrastructure projects, ensuring cost‑effective delivery from inception to completion. Reporting to senior management, you will shape procurement strategies, oversee tender processes, and drive value‑engineering initiatives across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cost‑planning strategies, life‑cycle value benchmarks and estimates for large‑scale infrastructure contracts.
• Standardise tender and contract templates, draft award letters, and prepare terms of reference for consultancy tenders.
• Interview, select and appoint Consultant Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors.
• Manage day‑to‑day financial administration, contract administration, and variation valuation from award to handover.
• Review and approve BOQs, IPCs, completion statements and final accounts for both consultant‑led and in‑house projects.
• Lead dispute resolution assessments, negotiate amicable settlements and handle vendor correspondence.
• Conduct takeover inspections, verify contractual compliance and coordinate project closure activities.
• Drive cost‑control through value engineering, life‑cycle cost analysis and data‑driven monitoring.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Proven ability to manage large contracts, lead multidisciplinary teams and interact with senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of contractual law, procurement processes and financial reporting.
