Civil Inspector – Construction Projects

About the role

The Civil Inspector will oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications, and local regulations on site in Dubai. The role involves daily coordination with contractors, quality control, and reporting to the Resident Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, including updates.
• Verify contractor compliance with standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Record daily contractor manpower, equipment, and resources on site.
• Conduct site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Liaise daily with contractors to manage site resources, health and safety, and work progress.
• Prepare daily inspection and progress reports, including work orders, material deliveries, and inspection programs.
• Implement and follow up on site instructions issued by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Apply quality control procedures and ensure works follow the approved Quality Management System and project‑specific quality plans.
• Assist with site measurements and survey checks for utilities, alignments, levels, and other infrastructure components.
• Coordinate with the Client’s Project Manager or representatives during site inspections.
• Monitor and record contractor QA/QC activities, including materials testing, workmanship, and inspection records.
• Identify and report site issues promptly and coordinate corrective actions with the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
• Monitor and verify start‑up, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, maintaining proper documentation.
• Maintain complete records of material test results, inspections, and executed works for project close‑out and handover.
• Conduct audit inspections to verify conformity with contract documents, approved shop drawings, method statements, and contractor quality plans.
• Ensure all works comply with Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA, and other local authority standards and regulations.
• Promote and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on site.
