Classroom Assistant – Immediate Joining

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking enthusiastic Classroom Assistants for Virginia American School in Abu Dhabi. The role supports pupils inside and outside the classroom, helping them fully engage in daily activities while promoting their well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group support to pupils, ensuring participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
• Assist teachers with implementing individual education programmes and monitoring pupil progress.
• Support pupils with additional needs, including emotional, behavioural and social skill development.
• Maintain pupil records, prepare displays of student work, and handle classroom materials and photocopying tasks.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks and other school locations, ensuring health and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with specialists such as speech and occupational therapists as required.
• Participate in team meetings, contribute to behaviour policy development and enforce school discipline procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school certificate.
• At least two years of experience working in a school setting.
• Proficiency in English in line with the school curriculum.
• Experience supporting students for whom English is not the first language.
• Commitment to child welfare, a clean DBS/police check and a professional, solution‑focused attitude.
