Clinical Social Worker – UAE (Master’s required) – Al Ain

About the role

The Clinical Social Worker will deliver comprehensive social work services within a hospital setting, ensuring care aligns with UAE health regulations and ethical standards. The role focuses on assessing and supporting patients, families, and vulnerable groups throughout the care continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial, cognitive and mental‑health assessments, identifying risks and safeguarding concerns.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based intervention and care plans.
• Provide counselling, crisis intervention, trauma‑informed care, psycho‑education and appropriate referrals.
• Assess and respond to suicide risk, abuse, neglect and other safeguarding issues, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Collaborate with psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, case managers and other professionals to deliver multidisciplinary care.
• Advocate for patients’ rights, autonomy, confidentiality and access to social and legal resources.
• Support families and caregivers in assessment, treatment planning and discharge processes.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with DOH and facility policies.
• Participate in case discussions, quality‑improvement initiatives and specialized social‑work services such as mental health, child protection and palliative care.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
• Relevant licensure or registration to practice social work in the UAE (if applicable).
• Experience working with children, vulnerable adults, elderly patients or persons with disabilities is preferred.
