About the role
Midis Group is looking for an experienced Cloudera Administrator in Dubai to manage, monitor and optimise its Cloudera big data platform. The role covers hands-on administration of Cloudera CDP, Hadoop ecosystem components, cluster management, performance tuning, security and production support, ensuring high availability, stability and scalability.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure and administer Cloudera CDP clusters (on-premises or cloud)
- Perform regular cluster maintenance, upgrades, patches and hotfix deployments
- Monitor cluster performance and resource usage, and ensure high availability
- Manage and optimise HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, ZooKeeper, Impala and similar components
- Troubleshoot node failures, service downtime, performance bottlenecks and configuration issues
- Implement cluster security: Kerberos, Ranger, Sentry, SSL and role-based access
- Set up backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures
- Support data pipelines, jobs and workloads with development teams, and uphold data governance and compliance
- Maintain documentation of architecture, topology and changes, and support automation and scripting (bash, Python, Ansible)
- Take part in on-call rotation for production support and incident response
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience as a Cloudera Administrator (CDH/CDP) and large-scale distributed data systems
- Cloudera certifications (CCAH, CCAH, CCA Administrator or CDP Administrator)
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Cloudera Manager)
- Familiarity with Kafka, NiFi or data ingestion frameworks is a plus
Required skills
- Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, HBase, ZooKeeper, Oozie, Impala
- Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
- Kerberos, Ranger/Sentry, LDAP/AD integration
- Scripting (Shell, Python or similar)
- Networking, load balancing and security best practices; cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus
