Commercial Director Retail

An established regional retail organisation is seeking a seasoned Commercial Director to shape product strategy, commercial planning and merchandising performance across multiple channels. This executive position will drive profitability, inventory optimisation and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategy for multiple product categories.
• Lead assortment planning, inventory optimisation and trading performance.
• Drive sales, profitability, stock productivity and commercial KPIs.
• Oversee pricing, forecasting and in‑season performance reviews.
• Partner with senior leaders in Retail, Digital, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance.
• Build and develop high‑performing commercial teams.
• Use consumer insights and market trends to influence strategic decisions.

Required profile

• 12+ years of progressive commercial leadership in large retail organisations.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing teams and delivering commercial growth.
• Strong analytical, financial and strategic decision‑making capabilities.
• Experience in international consumer, lifestyle, fashion, sporting goods or omnichannel retail environments.
• Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
