Commercial Manager (M2)

About the role

Mace is looking for a Commercial Manager (M2) responsible for the commercial management of work packages, working alongside package managers and reporting to the project commercial lead. The role provides risk and opportunity reporting, protects work packages and project margins through cost control systems, and covers subcontract packages from procurement and tendering through to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Champion safety first, ensuring compliance with HSE standards while fostering wellbeing, inclusion and a positive safety culture.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery, maintain quality systems and support senior leaders in achieving programme milestones.
• Oversee budgets, risks and ethical governance, contributing to long-term business sustainability.
• Lead collaborative project teams, driving performance, stakeholder engagement and best practice innovation across all phases.
• Manage subcontract packages from procurement and tendering through to final account.
• Lead commercial reporting, cost control, change management, and risk and opportunity processes.
• Protect and enhance project margins through mitigation, value engineering and cost reduction.
• Collaborate across disciplines, embedding carbon reduction and supporting net zero delivery.

Required profile

• Quantity surveying degree, CSCS and MRICS.
• Strong client and stakeholder leadership.
• Openness to part-time, flexible and hybrid working options where suitable.

Required skills

• Commercial reporting and cost control expertise.
• JCT contract knowledge.
