Commis 2 - Rooms Service Production

About the role

W Hotels is hiring a Commis 2 for its Rooms Service Production kitchen in Abu Dhabi (Yas Island). This is a full-time, non-management position focused on preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to check they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down the workstation and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Work in a team, support colleagues and maintain positive working relationships.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred; no supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
