Commis II - Hotel Kitchen

About the role

Swissotel Al Ghurair and Swissotel Living Al Ghurair, a 620-room-and-suite upper-upscale hotel in Deira, Dubai, is looking for a Commis II to join its kitchen team. You will prepare food in the kitchen according to the performance standards set by the outlet chef and using the provided information and recipes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the highest hygiene and maintenance standards in your kitchen section
• Apply HACCP food safety guidelines so that the food served meets the highest quality and standard
• Support the Chef de Partie (or Demi Chef de Partie) in daily operations and take full responsibility of your section when the immediate supervisor is absent
• Prepare food according to the set menu specifications (pictures and/or portions)
• Organise your section according to the plan devised by the outlet chef
• Practice economy of inventory to avoid wastage and spoilage

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in the hotel industry is preferred
• Creative and passionate about food and customer service
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and as part of a cohesive team
• Ability to focus on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous
• Eligibility to live and work in Dubai; visa costs and flights are covered for selected candidates from their place of origin
