Commis II - Pastry

About the role

Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha is looking for a Commis II Pastry to join its culinary team. As a key member of the pastry department, you will help create desserts and pastries that delight guests. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and producing a wide range of pastries, desserts and baked goods.
• Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with senior pastry chefs and other kitchen staff to meet daily production goals.
• Help plate and present desserts for various dining outlets.
• Take part in inventory management and cost control.
• Suggest ideas for new dessert concepts and menu items.
• Support the team during high-volume periods and special events.
• Improve pastry skills under the guidance of senior chefs.

Required profile

• Basic pastry skills and knowledge of fundamental pastry techniques.
• Familiarity with a wide range of pastry ingredients and equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic team and to multitask.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods in a kitchen.
• Culinary school diploma or relevant pastry certificate preferred.
