Commissioning Manager

About the role

NMDC Energy PJSC is looking for a Commissioning Manager in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that commissioning works on the assigned project are properly planned, scheduled and implemented according to work standards and procedures, and coordinates with the client, vendors and project disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in setting the commissioning execution strategy and draft the Project Commissioning Execution Plan.
• Manage commissioning and start-up preparation, coordinate with project disciplines and develop the detailed commissioning schedule.
• Guide Commissioning Engineers in analysing the scope against the contract and battery limits, preparing pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up procedures, and reviewing test run procedures and operating manuals.
• Analyze commissioning requirements, prepare equipment and tools lists and initiate procurement.
• Ensure timely delivery of commissioning deliverables, hold regular client reviews on HSE and progress, and lead subcontractors for safe execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Plan and monitor vendor activities within budget and schedule, and integrate commissioning with construction activities.
• Review and approve system limits and turnover philosophy, and get client approval of pre-commissioning, commissioning and operations procedures.
• Track contractual deviations for claims, set and monitor KPIs, report progress and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare the Completion Management Database, hand over the plant to the client and transfer lessons learned to the home office.
• Take part in P&ID, HAZOP, HAZID, spare parts, specialist services and 3D model reviews, and give input to commissioning proposals at tendering.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Previous experience leading multi-discipline commissioning works is a must.
