Competent Person Electrical Engineer – Transmission Lines

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Competent Person (CP) Electrical Engineer to lead transmission line projects in the UAE. The role ensures safe, compliant execution of all construction and installation activities on site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor transmission line construction, installation, erection, testing and related activities.
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards and enforce safety controls in accordance with UAE regulations and client standards.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, HSE and client teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing and conductor installation activities.
• Provide toolbox talks, technical guidance and ensure corrective actions for incidents or non‑conformities.

Required profile

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in transmission line projects.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA CP approval – mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/GCC transmission line construction practices and HSE requirements.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
