Consultant – Brain Injury Medicine (Western Qualified)

About the role

The government hospital in Al Ain is looking for a highly experienced Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine who holds a Western qualification. You will join a leading neuroscience and rehabilitation centre, delivering comprehensive assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Provide acute, post‑acute and long‑term care for brain‑injured patients.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and neuropsychologists.
• Manage cognitive disorders, spasticity and functional independence goals.
• Participate in case conferences, audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with Western Board Certification in Brain Injury Medicine, PM&R, Neurology or a related specialty.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board experience as a Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine or Neurorehabilitation.
• Eligibility for DHA, DOH or MOH Consultant licence.
• Proven experience in a JCI‑accredited or specialised rehabilitation centre.
• Strong clinical leadership, communication and teamwork abilities.
