Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Emergency Medicine physician to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering high‑quality, rapid care to patients with acute and traumatic conditions in a busy emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Handle medical, surgical, trauma and other acute emergency presentations, including emergency procedures and resuscitation.
• Lead the care of critically ill and unstable patients and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Supervise junior physicians, residents and emergency staff, ensuring accurate documentation and patient‑safety compliance.
• Participate in trauma and medical emergency response, quality improvement, clinical governance and audit activities.
• Contribute to education, training and continuing medical education programmes.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine.
• Board certification or equivalent specialist/consultant qualification.
• Minimum 5‑10 years post‑specialisation experience in adult emergency care, trauma and resuscitation.
• Eligible for DOH Consultant classification/license in Abu Dhabi.
• Excellent communication, leadership and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Proficiency in emergency procedures and trauma management.
• Resuscitation techniques for critically ill patients.
• Critical care management in an emergency setting.
