Consultant Family Medicine – Obesity & Weight Management

About the role

Burjeel Medical City is seeking a Consultant in Family Medicine with a dedicated focus on obesity and weight management. This full‑time, on‑site position will provide comprehensive primary‑care services to patients dealing with overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome and related comorbidities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia.
• Conduct detailed clinical evaluations, risk stratification, and order/interpret relevant investigations.
• Develop individualized, evidence‑based weight‑management plans.
• Deliver structured lifestyle‑modification programs, including nutrition counseling, physical‑activity guidance, behavioral‑therapy support and pharmacological management when appropriate.
• Coordinate care with dietitians, endocrinologists, bariatric specialists and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, multidisciplinary case discussions and community health‑promotion programs.

Required profile

• Qualified consultant in Family Medicine with experience in obesity and metabolic health.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence‑based practice.
