Consultant Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon (Liver Transplant Focus)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon with a focus on liver transplantation to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering advanced surgical care, managing comprehensive transplant pathways, and contributing to program development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform living and deceased donor liver transplant surgeries.
• Participate in kidney, pancreas and other abdominal organ transplant procedures as required.
• Manage complex hepatobiliary (HPB) surgical cases and provide pre‑ and post‑transplant patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant teams and take part in organ procurement and on‑call services.
• Contribute to teaching, clinical research, quality improvement and program development initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD) and accredited General Surgery residency.
• Fellowship in Abdominal Organ Transplant Surgery and/or Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery.
• Board certification in General Surgery; transplant surgery certification is highly desirable.
• 5–10 years post‑fellowship consultant‑level experience with proven expertise in liver transplantation.
• Experience in living and deceased donor liver transplants; kidney, pancreas or multi‑organ transplant experience preferred.
