Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon (Transplant)

About the role

A leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Consultant Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon specializing in transplant surgery. The position is full time and involves both clinical work and support of departmental and organizational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support and adhere to all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures
• Take part in the organization's performance management system, including peer review and productivity and utilization review
• Help ensure adequate medical coverage is available within the division at all times
• Attend divisional meetings as required
• Support reporting, investigation and response to untoward incidents
• Perform complex paediatric cardiac surgeries, including heart transplantation
• Manage congenital heart disease and complex cardiac conditions in paediatric patients
• Work closely with paediatric cardiology, ICU and transplant teams, and take part in multidisciplinary clinical meetings
• Supervise junior physicians and surgical staff, and ensure accurate documentation of clinical information and procedures
• Assume other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Consultant Staff

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery or Transplant Surgery
• TIER 1 qualification under the Abu Dhabi PQR (American Board, Canadian Board, UK CCT or equivalent)
• At least 3 years of post-specialization experience in paediatric cardiac surgery
• Valid DOH license or eligibility
