Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon

About the role

The Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) is seeking a senior Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery to join its specialist team at SKMC. The role combines clinical leadership with managerial responsibilities to ensure high‑quality cardiac care for children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the delivery of pediatric cardiac surgical services, ensuring adherence to best‑practice standards.
• Supervise junior medical staff, providing mentorship and ensuring safe patient care.
• Participate in performance management, peer review, and productivity assessments for the division.
• Assist the Division Chief with staff recruitment, scheduling, and maintaining continuous medical coverage.
• Conduct multidisciplinary meetings, coordinate with other specialties, and manage patient preparation and informed consent for procedures.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and regularly review investigation results to adjust treatment plans.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Paediatric Surgery, certified by a recognized board (e.g., American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board).
• Minimum five years of post‑specialisation experience in paediatric cardiac surgery.
• Current DOH (Abu Dhabi) licence or eligibility to obtain one.
• Evidence of ongoing CME and registration with SEHA Tier 1 or Tier 2 qualifications.
• Experience working in JCI‑accredited hospitals is preferred.
