Consultant Pediatric Emergency Physician

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join its Pediatric Emergency Department. The role involves delivering timely, compassionate emergency care to infants, children and adolescents while contributing to departmental leadership and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage acute medical, surgical and trauma conditions in pediatric patients.
• Lead resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management, vascular access and life‑saving interventions.
• Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair and procedural sedation.
• Coordinate care with subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists and other emergency physicians.
• Develop clinical pathways, guidelines and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans and follow‑up instructions clearly to families.
• Participate in teaching, research and represent the department at conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of post‑specialisation experience, including consultant‑level practice.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork abilities.
