Consultant – Pediatric Endocrinology

About the role

The role offers a senior consultant position delivering comprehensive endocrine care to children and adolescents in a leading Abu Dhabi healthcare provider. The successful physician will lead clinical services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and uphold the highest standards of patient safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead outpatient, inpatient and on‑call pediatric endocrinology assessments.
• Manage type 1 and type 2 diabetes, endocrine emergencies and technology‑supported diabetes care.
• Evaluate growth, puberty, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, bone‑mineral and metabolic disorders.
• Work closely with dietitians, diabetes educators, psychologists, genetics, radiology and other pediatric specialties.
• Develop clinical pathways, support transition to adult care, audit outcomes and contribute to teaching and research.
• Provide evidence‑based, patient‑ and family‑centered care in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
• Supervise junior medical staff and promote effective multidisciplinary decision‑making.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, credentialing and departmental education.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection‑prevention, medication safety, privacy and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized Pediatrics specialty qualification.
• Accredited Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship or board, recognized under UAE Professional Qualification Requirements.
• Active, unrestricted professional registration/licensure in the most recent country of practice.
• Tier 1 qualification with recent pediatric endocrinology caseload and DOH Consultant‑level experience.
• Eligibility to obtain a Department of Health – Abu Dhabi Consultant licence for the specialty.
