Consultant Pediatric Otolaryngology (STMC)

About the role

Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohammad Medical City is seeking a Consultant in Pediatric Otolaryngology to lead clinical services within the STMC division. The role combines direct patient care, supervision of junior staff, and participation in departmental performance and recruitment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Lead performance management processes, including peer review and productivity reviews.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, medical coverage, recruitment and administrative duties.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff and ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Diagnose and treat pediatric ENT patients according to best practice standards.
• Conduct ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Review investigations, modify treatment plans, and obtain informed consent for procedures.
• Liaise with other specialties and support services, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Ensure compliance with SEHA policies, licensing, certification and mandatory training requirements.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
• Board certification (American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, or other recognized Western board) and fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
• Minimum five years of post‑specialization experience.
• Current national medical license and proof of annual CME.
• Qualification from SEHA Tier 1 or Tier 2.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise junior staff and contribute to departmental performance management.
