Consultant Specialist Critical Care Medicine Physician - ICU Leadership

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital in the United Arab Emirates is expanding its Intensive Care & Critical Care Medicine services. The hospital seeks a highly skilled Consultant / Specialist Critical Care Medicine Physician to join a multidisciplinary ICU team, delivering high‑acuity, life‑saving care in a state‑of‑the‑art environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, stabilize and manage critically ill patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, multi‑organ dysfunction and severe infections.
• Lead ICU care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support and continuous monitoring.
• Perform and supervise advanced life‑support procedures such as intubation, central line and arterial line insertion, and resuscitation.
• Manage ventilated patients, including weaning protocols and advanced respiratory support strategies.
• Coordinate care for post‑operative and trauma patients, and participate in rapid‑response and code‑blue teams.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency physicians and subspecialists.
• Interpret laboratory, imaging and bedside monitoring data to guide treatment.
• Ensure adherence to infection‑control protocols and ICU quality standards.
• Communicate with families regarding condition, prognosis and treatment plans.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in Critical Care Medicine.
• Minimum 3 + years post‑specialty experience in an ICU setting.
• Experience working in a closed‑ICU model with multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Strong clinical decision‑making and leadership abilities.
