Consultant Urologist

About the role

A reputed healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced and qualified Consultant Urologist. The successful candidate will diagnose, manage and treat disorders of the urinary tract and male reproductive system through comprehensive medical care and advanced surgical procedures, combining clinical expertise with strong surgical skills and patient-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct consultations, physical examinations and diagnostic assessments for patients with urological conditions.
• Diagnose and manage diseases of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, testes and male reproductive system.
• Perform diagnostic investigations such as ultrasound, CT scans, cystoscopy, urinalysis and PSA testing.
• Carry out endoscopic, laparoscopic, minimally invasive and open urological surgeries as indicated.
• Treat conditions such as kidney stones, BPH, urinary tract infections, incontinence, male infertility, erectile dysfunction and urological cancers.
• Develop treatment plans, prescribe medication and provide follow-up care.
• Manage emergency urological cases and work with multidisciplinary teams including oncologists, radiologists and nephrologists.
• Counsel patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, surgery and prevention, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement and continuing medical education.

Required profile

• MBBS, MBChB or an equivalent recognized primary medical qualification.
• Accredited residency and specialist training in Urology.
• Recognized specialist or consultant-level board certification or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
• Several years of post-specialization experience, including independent clinical and surgical practice at consultant level.
• Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of urological conditions and surgical procedures.
