Customer Solution Engineer – Major Projects

About the role

The Customer Solution Engineer – Major Projects works within KONE’s early‑engagement team to translate complex customer requirements into complete, technically sound elevator and escalator solutions. The role focuses on non‑standard tender cases, ensuring KONE’s offerings are integrated into building specifications and delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and front‑line teams to define optimal technical solutions, including third‑party products where needed.
• Prepare cost estimates, lead‑time schedules and technical specifications, coordinating with Supply Line, installation and project‑management functions.
• Perform traffic analyses, energy calculations and feasibility checks for non‑standard projects.
• Generate shop drawings, installation layouts and manage SAP milestone tracking.
• Handle variation orders, material sample requests and respond to RFIs throughout the delivery process.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience in the elevator or related vertical‑transport industry.
• Proven ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
