Data Architect

About the role

Datamatics Technologies is looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead enterprise data architecture, governance and management initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments. The role covers data quality, metadata management, data lineage and architecture governance, and drives scalable data platforms supporting analytics, business intelligence, AI/ML and digital transformation. Candidates currently working in the UAE are considered; the position is full-time, one year and extendable.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, principles, policies and target-state roadmaps, and govern data architecture and management frameworks.
• Set up Data Governance operating models, stewardship processes and controls, and define data classification standards.
• Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models and lead Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Lakehouse initiatives.
• Establish Data Quality, Metadata Management and Data Lineage frameworks, and drive Architecture Governance and compliance.
• Define data retention, lifecycle and regulatory compliance policies, and work with stakeholders and data owners to raise data management maturity.
• Design and implement scalable cloud and hybrid data platforms, and lead architecture reviews, governance forums and design workshops.
• Mentor data engineering, analytics and delivery teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Warehousing or Enterprise Data Management.
• Proven experience leading large-scale Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Lakehouse programs and enterprise data transformation projects.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, governance teams, data owners and senior technology leadership.

Required skills

• Azure data services: Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL.
• Data integration, ETL/ELT and Change Data Capture (CDC).
• SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Enterprise reporting, analytics and BI architectures.
• Good to have: MDM, Data Mesh, streaming and real-time analytics, PII protection and encryption, and experience in government, telecom, banking or other large enterprises.
