Design and Detailing Engineer

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Design and Detailing Engineer in Dubai within the oil and gas sector. The engineer prepares design deliverables, supports procurement and vendor packages, and details pressure vessels and tanks for desalination plants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design deliverables such as datasheets, technical specifications and material requisitions, and perform technical bid evaluation
• Support procurement and sub-vendor package management
• Detail fabrication drawings of pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, API tanks and heavy columns as per ASME Section VIII Div 1 and API 650 for desalination plants
• Assign and receive work from engineers, designers and draftsmen
• Review mechanical design calculations, fabrication drawings and job packages
• Review vendor quotations against project requirements

Required profile

• Well-versed in pressure vessel design software such as CodeCac, PVElite and Compress
• Sound knowledge of international codes including ASME Section VIII Div 1 and Div 2, PD 5500 and API 650
• Good knowledge of ASME and BS materials
• Minimum 8 years of work experience
