Design Engineer – Electrical (Aviation Systems)

About the role

Catobo is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Dubai team. The role involves creating engineering designs for aviation systems such as aircraft warning lights, heliport systems, and lightning protection, while collaborating closely with clients and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documents.
• Review project specifications, BOQs, and client requirements before starting designs.
• Update and revise designs based on consultant and client feedback.
• Prepare technical quotations for Aircraft Warning Lights, Heliport Systems, Lightning Protection Systems, and other aviation systems.
• Attend client meetings to understand project requirements and answer technical questions.
• Coordinate with suppliers for technical information and material requirements.
• Support authority submissions by preparing the required drawings and calculations.
• Provide technical support to the site team during project execution.
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control for all design work.
• Update and manage sales orders in SAP in coordination with the Sales Team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant design engineering experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD; knowledge of other design software is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Good understanding of electrical systems and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an advantage.
