Design Engineer – Solar PV

About the role

The Design Engineer will join the Solar PV design team at Emirates Electrical Engineering, a division of Al Rostamani Group. The role supports the company’s growth by delivering technical designs, simulations and documentation for commercial and industrial solar projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the end‑to‑end Lead‑to‑Contract and Contract‑to‑Execution processes.
• Perform preliminary data analysis and provide technical recommendations for PV asset screening.
• Develop preliminary and detailed solar and electrical designs, focusing on configuration and optimisation.
• Run PV‑Syst, Helioscope and Homer simulations to generate output and performance tables.
• Create AutoCAD layouts, mechanical and installation details (mounting structures, inverter mounting, cable trays, weather stations, walkways, etc.).
• Produce single‑line diagrams, solar lab reports, shading analyses and basis of offers.
• Ensure designs comply with utility standards, safety and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the core design and execution teams to transfer knowledge.
• Interpret region‑specific regulations for lease, PPA and EPC contracts.
• Prepare project estimation sheets covering CAPEX and OPEX.

• Proactive team member of the Solar PV design team.
• Ability to support strategic growth through interaction with BD/Sales and Operations teams.
• Strong collaboration skills with core design and execution teams.
