Design Lead (Electrical DC) – Solar Power Plants

About the role

The Design Lead (Electrical – DC) will oversee engineering activities for solar PV power plants, from generation estimates to commissioning support. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring design deliverables meet project schedules and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical inputs to the tendering team and ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents.
• Review and approve design calculations, vendor deliverables, and inter‑departmental checks covering civil, structural, instrumentation, and MEP disciplines.
• Coordinate BIM 3D modelling for PV plants and support site execution teams during pre‑bid, construction, and warranty phases.
• Estimate man‑hour requirements, review BOQs, and assist in vendor pre‑award evaluations and equipment inspections.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 10‑12 years of experience in solar PV design or power distribution projects.
• Strong knowledge of national and international codes, standards, and contractual technical requirements.
• Ability to multitask, manage cross‑functional coordination, and deliver high‑quality documentation on schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PVSYST, Meteonorm, SOLAR GIS, Google Earth, and MS Office.
• Experience in BIM 3D modelling, cable sizing, inverter sizing, and earthing layout design for solar PV plants.
