DevOps Engineer (Azure, AKS) - 8 Years Experience

About the role

A cloud and DevOps engineer is needed for a focused technology team in Sharjah, working for a client that is modernising its core systems and expanding its hybrid cloud setup. The candidate joins a small infrastructure unit of fewer than 10 people, reporting directly to the Infrastructure Head. The position is on a 1-year UAE contract, immediately available, and requires the candidate to already be based in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor cloud environments, including provisioning, scaling and decommissioning resources
• Set up and manage Kubernetes clusters on Azure Kubernetes Service
• Maintain cloud uptime, performance and workload stability, and identify performance issues
• Track cloud spend and introduce cost-reduction measures
• Set up disaster recovery and business continuity using Azure Site Recovery or similar tools
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines and automate operations with Python, Bash or PowerShell scripts, Ansible and Terraform
• Apply Infrastructure as Code practices and configure monitoring, log aggregation and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana
• Work with security teams on access controls, network security groups, system patches and compliance updates

Required profile

• Proven background in cloud administration and automation workflows
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, specifically on Azure Kubernetes Service
• Demonstrated experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management
• Previous experience in the banking or financial services sector is an advantage

Required skills

• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Server administration, network security and Azure Active Directory
• Prometheus and Grafana monitoring stacks

Salary range stated as 25k to 35k AED.
