Director, Business Banking – Trade Working Capital

About the role

The Director, Business Banking – Trade Working Capital will lead the bank’s efforts to serve SME and mid‑market companies in the UAE, especially Dubai. The role focuses on expanding relationships, driving credit sales, and managing portfolio risk while ensuring alignment with First Abu Dhabi Bank’s policies and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deepen and broaden relationships with existing corporate clients, increasing sales volume and market share.
• Drive utilisation of approved credit limits and improve the number and quality of credit applications.
• Ensure timely response and turnaround for customer requests and loan processing.
• Align product structure and pricing with client needs to create a competitive edge.
• Leverage existing client supplier‑buyer networks to generate new borrowing relationships.
• Develop and manage the corporate/commercial financing portfolio, providing accurate product information.
• Source new business, follow up on leads, and coordinate client visits with GTx and FX teams.
• Prepare credit applications, analyse financial statements, and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Identify early warning signals, assess financial and business risks, and proactively manage portfolio risk.

Required profile

• Proven experience in corporate or commercial banking, credit analysis, and risk management.
• Strong ability to assess customer needs, capture opportunities, and drive best‑practice lending.
• Track record of growing client relationships and achieving sales targets.
• Excellent understanding of trade finance and working‑capital products.
• Commitment to continuous self‑development and participation in training programs.
