Director of Human Resources

About the role

The University of Sharjah seeks a senior HR leader to drive strategic human capital initiatives, align HR policies with university goals, and support its long‑term vision.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that enhance institutional effectiveness.
• Lead policy development, change management, and organizational design while ensuring compliance with UAE regulations.
• Oversee talent acquisition, Emiratization programs, and succession planning for academic and administrative staff.
• Manage total rewards, compensation benchmarking, and organizational charts to maintain the university as an employer of choice.
• Drive digital transformation of HR services, including ERP enhancements and paper‑less, ticket‑based processes.
• Prepare workforce analytics, strategic reports, and manage the HR department budget.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive senior‑level HR experience in a large, complex organization, preferably in higher education.
• Strong leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and high emotional intelligence.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams).
• Experience with ERP HR systems, especially Oracle HCM.
• Data‑driven modeling for workforce planning and HR metrics analysis.
• Expertise in compensation design, benefits benchmarking, and UAE labor regulations.
