Director of Performing Arts

About the role

GEMS Wellington International School is seeking a Director of Performing Arts to lead its performing arts programme from August 2026. The role will champion the school’s vision of fostering socially responsible students through innovative, co‑constructed learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the performing arts curriculum across GCSE and A‑Level programmes.
• Develop and deliver high‑quality teaching, assessment and enrichment activities.
• Mentor and support performing arts teachers, fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align the arts programme with the school’s values of integrity, empathy and fortitude.
• Engage with external partners, accreditation bodies and networks to maintain outstanding standards.

Required profile

• Hold a BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE/PGDE or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience teaching performing arts in a leadership position at GCSE and A‑Level.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire staff and students and uphold the school’s core values.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the KHDA Framework.
