Director – Performing Arts Department

About the role

The Performing Arts Department Director will shape and execute Dubai's sector‑wide strategy for the performing arts, driving growth, innovation and international collaboration across the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive sector strategy, defining objectives, KPIs and programmes.
• Lead the department’s annual operational plan and manage its budget.
• Assess the performing‑arts ecosystem to identify gaps, needs and opportunities.
• Influence sector policy and contribute to legislative initiatives.
• Build and nurture partnerships to deliver strategic initiatives.
• Design, manage and allocate funding programmes, grants and awards.
• Promote local and international performing‑arts talent.
• Oversee exhibition planning, design and documentation for the sector.
• Consolidate department budgets and ensure compliance.
• Manage direct reports, set objectives and review performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Applied Arts, Business Administration, Project Management or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in arts management or related fields.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams and large‑scale stakeholder engagement.
• Experience shaping policy recommendations for a sector.
