Director - Restaurant Experience Technology

About the role

The Director of Restaurant Experience Technology (RET) leads the strategy and execution of technology solutions that enhance restaurant operations and the customer journey. Acting as the primary bridge between restaurant operations and IT, the role ensures that technology investments deliver measurable value and support continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the RET strategy, representing restaurant operations within the IT organization.
• Develop adoption and operational‑excellence roadmaps for in‑store technology.
• Collaborate with product teams to align software roadmaps with on‑site operational needs.
• Optimize hardware placement, reduce technology‑related friction, and lead pilots and rollout governance.
• Drive training, adoption, and change‑management initiatives with Operations Excellence teams.
• Apply industrial‑engineering, Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve process throughput and labor utilization.
• Lead technology operations, root‑cause analysis, and service reliability improvements.
• Partner with operations leaders, maintain feedback loops, and manage vendor relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Computer Science or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in restaurant technology, digital transformation, or related domains.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale technology rollouts and operational improvements.

• Technical expertise in POS, self‑order kiosks, kitchen display systems, drive‑thru technologies, digital menu boards, payment systems, workforce management, restaurant mobility platforms, and AI‑enabled restaurant technologies.
