Director – Urban Design & Master Planning

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Urban Design & Master Planning to lead large‑scale, multidisciplinary projects in Dubai. The role combines strategic vision, design excellence, and business development to shape vibrant urban environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop integrated design solutions that address social, legal and economic dimensions while reviewing and refining drawings, construction documents and detailing.
• Lead project and task management, translating urban concepts into clear, compelling graphics and presentation materials.
• Prepare bids and proposals to support marketing efforts and attract new clients.
• Provide project leadership, direction and business development for planning and urban design initiatives, overseeing client relationships.
• Apply New Urbanism principles and planning theory to redevelop commercial and retail facilities, researching recent comparable projects.
• Independently manage master‑planning assignments and support senior team members on large‑scale projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, planning or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience delivering master‑planning and urban‑design projects across multiple disciplines.
• Strong design, drawing and report‑writing abilities in urban design and master planning.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced skills in SketchUp.
• Strong command of Excel.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
