Document Controller - Emirati Talent

About the role

Al-Futtaim Contracting, part of Al-Futtaim Real Estate, is hiring a Document Controller in Dubai. The role manages all document movements, electronic or paper, following established procedures so that documents are accurately numbered, formatted, issued, reviewed, dispatched, recorded and archived. It also involves supervising junior staff and liaising with designers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage document movements and maintain a document control system for incoming and outgoing information, keeping records up to date.
• Issue controlled copies of information according to the Design Management Plan and check drawings against agreed status and format.
• Liaise with designers and specialist suppliers on information queries and troubleshoot problems with the drawing management system.
• Supervise and train junior document control staff, and recommend improvements to departmental procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality and environmental procedures, and report on project design performance to the Design Manager.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Management or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction business.
• Ability to train and supervise junior document control staff.
• Excellent communication skills for working with designers and suppliers.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in IT applications, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Strong organizational and document management skills.
