Document Verification Officer

About the role

Velora is looking for a Document Verification Officer in Abu Dhabi. The role verifies travel documents and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for flights covered by MOUs and classified as high-risk. It also involves preparing and submitting offloading reports to protect the organisation from penalties from immigration authorities and to deliver safe, professional guest handling.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and verify travel documents of guests on all flights covered by MOU and high-risk categories, ensuring regulatory compliance and detecting fraudulent documents, potential illegal immigrants and their facilitators.
• Identify trends of fraudulent activity and practices related to travel documents.
• Prepare reports with facts and justifications to support immigration appeals against penalties issued to the company.
• Assist the operations team and local authorities in handling cases of inadmissible guests, depending on the sensitivity of each case.
• Brief the operations team on breaches and incidents linked to document verification.
• Prepare offloading reports for guests removed from flights and submit them to local authorities.

Required profile

• Secondary level education, with an additional qualification in Document Verification or Aviation Security.
• At least 2 years of experience in Document Verification and Immigration Compliance.
• At least 1 year of experience in airport operations at a major international airport.
