Draftsman (Engineering Drawings)

About the role

A client based in Abu Dhabi is looking for a draftsman to prepare engineering drawings. The position is on-site and requires 3-5 years of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and project documents.
• Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings and installation drawings.
• Coordinate drawings with engineering, procurement, fabrication and site teams.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and design clashes.
• Work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience as a draftsman, preferably in construction, engineering, oil & gas or water treatment projects.
• Experience preparing 2D drawings, layouts, detailed drawings and as-built drawings.
• Experience in water treatment, RO, STP, desalination or industrial projects is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting/design software.
• Knowledge of drawing standards, dimensions, tolerances, symbols and revision control.
